Simple tips for stress management

This day in age our biggest enemy is stress. Anything and everything can trigger it! It becomes a challenge trying to prevent it, and if you find yourself tense and stressed, it's important to be able to take measures in order to deal with it.

Sometimes you can reduce your stress by making "good enough" decisions. There's times we put so much pressure on making the "perfect" decision that we stress ourselves out. Being a perfeccionist can be very stressful. Trying to be perfect overwhelms the brain, and ends up making us feel out of control. The less we worry about making the perfect decision with the little things, the less we'll stress when it's time to make the big decisions.

Stressed out? Try one of these techniques:
1)Meditate: a few minutes a day will do. Start small. Simply focusing on your breath can help you tremendously. We tend to hold our breath when we're stressed.
2) Be present: forget what happened, what you have to do... Be present in the moment, connect with your body.
3) Decompress: get a massage, take a warm Bath or even placing a warm heat wrap around your shoulder for a few minutes will help.
4) Laugh: watch a funny movie, read a comic, get together with a funny friend. Get those endorphins flowing!
5) Put on some relaxing music: be it more classic tunes or sounds of nature (birds singing, thee ocean) or rock out to your favorite rock tunes!
6) Get moving: run, jog, go to the gym, do yoga...

The more relaxed you are, the more centered you'll be and the better decisions you'll make.
